A fuzzy warm feeling..

I must say The Eyeglass Room gives me a fuzzy warm feeling every time I open my door on a morning, I look around, straighten up from the previous day, put on my Harvey Sheldon Philly Radio station, turn on my   led window lights, computer on, orders ready to give to my courier who arrives at 11 and I'm ready for the day.

Then I'm wondering what the day will bring, a flash mob of spectacle hunters or a rake of sales people (oh how I hate to say no all the time, but one must be brutal to make this work). I have decided to take a count of my customers and visitors and see how the trends go, Thursdays seem to be the day that's most quiet, I wonder why that would be?
This week has been a fabulous one though and it's not over yet, brought in a very sharp Esprit frame for a business man, I didn't even have time to photograph it as he loved it and ordered it, so off it went to be made up for him.

A lady who hasn't had a new frame for 6 years and who is very particular and discerning happily decided on a classy Guess frame, it was the first one she looked at and after getting a frame in that she had seen a couple of years ago, she went with the one I showed her first, amazing how often that happens!
One local man stopped by for a little adjustment to his new rimless specs he bought from me a few weeks ago, I was happy to hear he is over the moon with them as is his wife, she is enjoying her first time with her new Transition lenses, no more messing about with a sunclip for them and cheaper to boot.

Tomorrow I have a few customers who will be stopping in for their new glasses to be fitted, I love to see the finished product sitting on a smiling face! :)

What a difference a day makes

It was my intention to write a bit everyday about how my day had gone, yesterday however proved this was not to be so, seems I was pretty busy!

A lovely lady came and collected her new glasses and she was so excited at being able to see, she had never had a prescription pair and only bought "off the peg" readers. Her prescription was pretty complicated so I was a little worried things would seem weird for her as it was her first time AND she was going straight into progressive lenses, meaning, she keeps them on all the time for distance, mid range and reading. Anyhow after explaining to her to not be worried if they feel odd for a while,  I fitted the Harley Davidson brand frame and her face lit up! That's a good sign, she could see perfectly and loved them! I did say to her that it was probably not a good idea to drive in them immediately but take your time to get used to them when she gets home. A very satisfying outcome for both of us, I will give her a call in a few days just to see how she is making out with them. Also we had a good chat about hair, hair being one of my favourite subjects, happy me :)

Also two ladies had made a special trip to come out to see me and really loved the place, one lady is looking for something unusual in black and white and I have just the perfect pair and she looked stunning in them, but I also had another pair in brown which she liked but wants to see them in black, so I ordered them in for her to look at, but really the pair I already have was the business on her, lets see which she chooses when she comes back on Monday! The other lady chose a cute pair of Candies frames but she needs to get her eyes tested first but all in all we had super fun trying on all my frames.

Well, I'll not be boring and yak on about the itty bitty parts of my day, but lets see what today brings, it's a beautiful sunny day out there.

Ok, lets go!

Well this is my first post for my blog for The Eyeglass Room, perhaps this will be fun.

It has been a quiet day today, well it's been a quiet couple of weeks so I have been here holding my nerve and hoping that the people who have been in have liked what they saw and enjoyed this new experience and pass the word around. I really hope they can see that I am here serving this lovely little community that we came so far to be with.
Really, I know it's a strange kind of setting as we are in this beautiful property set in woodland, not in your usual high street and that's part of the attraction, think back to the old days, or if you don't remember those days, think back and imagine the old days, where the Dentist (no don't think about the Dentist) or the Doctor or the corner store was basically in their home, well it's kind of like that here but with all the modern up to date product you want, best of both worlds I think. As we are only 5 minutes from town and just off the main highway, surely in time this will work right?
So far, I've been really pleased with the work I have produced and so have been my customers, I need everyone to know how good it is and how good are my prices, more competitive than anyone else around.

Just got to hang on in there
